CROWDFUNDING LAUNCH

We are pleased to announce the launch of a 5-week crowdfunding campaign to support the publication of the artist book "I Used to Catch Grasshoppers" by John van Oers.
More than just a simple collection of sketches, this 412-page book was conceived by the artist as a living archive. With nine chapters and featuring approximately 200 drawings, it offers a unique insight into how the practice of drawing nourishes his sculptural work, in both substance and form.

"No other medium can match this immediacy."

For John van Oers, drawing is not a preparatory step, but rather his primary instrument of reflection. On paper, the idea manifests instantly. He views these pages as visual notes: a collection of observations and memories where the acts of looking, thinking, and recording ultimately coincide.

By participating in this campaign, you have the opportunity to: Pre-order the book (€28)
You can also choose to include one of three sculptures created by the artist:

The campaign will close on Sunday, May 3, 2026. One week later, on Sunday, May 10, we will have the pleasure of welcoming you to the opening of John Van Oers' solo exhibition. This event will be particularly symbolic as it marks the tenth anniversary of a collaboration that has been as intense as enjoyable with one of our flagship artists. The vernissage will be the perfect opportunity to pick up your copy in person and have it signed by the artist.

(Note: For those who are unable to attend, possible shipping is available for a flat fee of €10. The book can be collected at the gallery throughout the summer.)

Every contribution counts! We thank you in advance for your kind support and hope to see many of you there to celebrate the publication of this book.
