MICHEL MAZZONI

For Michel Mazzoni, photography is a process-based activity that requires movement and circulation of both the body and the gaze. A keen observer of his surroundings, the artist generally focuses on insignificant, precarious, or neglected elements in order to reveal the many interstices that punctuate the course of existence and to which we do not necessarily pay attention. Engaging as much with spaces, solids, voids, rough edges, and off-screen elements as with the memories they generate, the artist's fragmented images unfold according to the places that host them, like punctuation marks, in an attempt to formalize a moment suspended in the frantic pace of our daily lives.
